The Band in full swing!

On Friday 18th November the West Buckland School Foundation presented Jazz Night 2022 at Saunton Sands Hotel.  The Art Deco stylings of the hotel provided the perfect backdrop for the swinging sounds of the West Buckland Jazz Band.  With a tight horn section and fabulous solo performances from current students Mischa, Megan, Mia and Ben, guests were treated to a delightful mix of standards and modern repertoire.  A surprise cameo performance of "Careless Whisper" by Headmaster's wife Jules Stapleton got the crowd up and dancing and Eden's performance of "Uptown Funk" had everyone begging for more!

It was wonderful to be joined on the evening by OWB's Pish Allaway (07-22F), Alex Bingham (10-22G) and Alfred Reynolds (15-22G) who came back to play and many more OWB's were guests at the event.

Thank you to band leader Michael Burstow for putting together a fantastic band, technical crew members Steve Wilson and Dom Philpot for all your hard work on the night, Ihor Andriienko for the photoaphy and Saunton Sands Hotel for the use of this amazing venue for us.  Also to Pete Brend for blazing a trail to the dance floor!
