Jack's Marathon Achievement

In May 2017, my uncle was diagnosed with a primary Grade 4 Glioblastoma, a highly aggressive brain tumour that has one of the worst cancer survival rates of all.

I had always wanted to run a marathon so what better way than to tackle the biggest one, the London Marathon!

My chosen charity was the Brain Tumour Charity. I had hoped to run in a time of 3.30 hours; however, I crossed the line in 3.41 which I was happy with, but even more so the £3,000 I raised for the charity. Very sadly, my uncle lost his battle in July, despite being one of the 3.3% to survive beyond two years.

Hopefully, my small contribution will go some way towards research into finding a cure for this type of cancer.
