Roger Henry Adams (66-74G) came from Crediton and entered West Buckland School in 1966. He had a fine academic record, taking A Levels in Geography, English, Economics and Politics and went on to read Land Management at Reading University. He became a Chartered Surveyor and practiced as a City of London property Specialist for many years. His time at West Buckland also saw him excel at Fencing, achieving a Bronzw award in 1970, 2nd foil in 1971 and 1st foil in 1972. He left the CCF as a corporal in the army section and was secretary of the Phoenix Society for a year as well as being a Prefect in his upper sixth year. At speech day in 1973 he won the Comer Clarke prize for English.
Ted Muxworthy (73-78B) remembers Roger as "an all round nice guy who is sadly missed" He says "Roger mentored me in my early years, taking a keen interest in me going to read Land Management at Reading University which he had done and in my early years as a trainee in London when I was very much 'rus in urbe'!"
Most recently he lived near Salisbury in Wiltshire with wife Nicky. Our sincerest condolonces go to her and their children Camilla, Charlotte and William.
