Congratulations to Sean French (15-22G), Ellen French (15-22G), Millie McLintock (15-22G), Toby Spear (15-22C), James Tyson (14-21B), Sam Copsey (17-22G), Daisy Lambert (16-22B), Madeleine Brent (09-21F) and current students Lola, Anna and Andrew.
On Monday, Alumni and current Year 13 students attended a ceremony at Buckingham Palace to receive their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards. For some this was a long awaited date as, during the Covid pandemic all ceremonies were suspended.
Those receiving awards have shown passion, determination and resilience to complete all sections of the award and they should be rightly proud of their achievement. Thanks must go to Richard Hathway and his WBS DofE Outdoor Learning Team for all their support and encouragement and for facilitating students in completing this award alongside all their other academic, musical and sporting commitments.
When asked what they had enoyed most about completing their Gold Award, James Tyson singled out the expedition hiking with his mates in the Brecon Beacons/Bannau Brycheiniog, whilst Anna and Lola both opted for the residential course with all the water sports they had undertaken in the sunshine.
Mr Hathway reminds you all that you have until aged 25 to finish your award so get in touch if you and see what can be done [email protected] for some it could be just 2 hours of writing things up.
