Jade Angeles Fitton (97-03C) has published a collection of poems in collaboration with The Museum of Barnstaple & North Devon .
From white witches and mysterious stones to shipwrecked sailors and whistling ghosts, each poem and artwork brings the stories of North Devon to life.
Inspired by the weird, wild and wonderful myth and folklore of where Jade grew up, she has written a collection of poems that are accompanied by artworks created for the collection by the most celebrated artists in the area:
Hester Berry (96-05F)
Merlyn Chesterman
Edward Crumpton (93-05C)
Petra Freeman
John Hurford Paintings (cover illustration)
Peter Kettle (92-05F)
Hilary Paynter
Gail Spenser-Mollington
Peter Stiles
Josephine Walker
There will be an accompanying exhibition, where the art and poetry will be able to be seen (and purchased!). The exhibition will open to the public at the museum on the 18th May 2021 until 17th July 2021.
They have priced the collection so that the books remain accessible to everyone, including those on low incomes. Available to purchase online here: https://lnkd.in/dC_nXZj
