Dennis spent an enormous amount of time developing Judo at West Buckland and also ran the shooting for many years.

The event was hosted by Chris Ponder and Julie and I were treated to one of Chris's feasts (five courses with five complementary wines).

I have only sampled something similar once before and that was when Mark Tippet and I were invited as Vice Captain and Captain of cross country running to sample the hospitality of Paul Thornhill when Paul was Master in charge of cross country and this was how he rewarded us for our efforts during the year.

Take note whoever is in charge of cross country...I hope this tradition is still going!
