Heather's Progress

“I finished a course of radiotherapy in April. I was very lucky to have a rota of lovely friends and family to drive me to Exeter every day for 3 and half weeks. It was amazing how emotional I was at the end of treatment, it was another safety net being taken from me. I do however still have Herceptin injections every 3 weeks at the chemotherapy unit until November which helps keep my mind at ease

As always my "Check yourself, don't wreck yourself" campaign has kept me focused. With the support of so many we have raised over £11,000 for the charity Coppafeel. I have recently run The Race for Life and our team raised nearly £4000 for Cancer Research, I am very proud and grateful of everyone involved. I am currently organising the celebrity undies auction, which is taking place in November. We are still on the hunt for a few more 'big named' celebs so if you can help please do contact me.

I am fully aware that my life is different to what it was a year ago. I am a very different person, but not in negative way. I am stronger and I am very lucky that I am in a position where I really appreciate the small things that surround me. Life won't 'go back' to normal but I am learning to deal with what has happened. Unfortunately no one can make that promise but I have to stay positive that the drugs will work and it was just a little glitch in my matrix. I am determined that this illness will not get the better of me, for the sake of my wonderful husband and beautiful children”
