Last year Dan was diagnosed with testicular cancer and after nine weeks of chemo was given the all clear.

A keen sportsman, Dan along with a group of friends, Team Subsidion will be setting off from Bristol on 30th July and stopping at the chemo wards in Taunton, Barnstaple, Exeter and Plymouth before arriving at the Lowen Ward in Truro on Sunday 2nd August.

Whilst stopping in Barnstaple Dan will be meeting up with Heather Walters nee Youings (93-98B) who featured in the last Buckland Brief. Heather made National headlines when she started an initiative last October called ‘Sling It’, asking members of the public to donate their bras, which decorated the scaffolding surrounding the family shop, Youing’s.
