John Laramy Bartlett (53-60F)

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of John Laramy Bartlett (53-60F)
28 Apr 2023
Written by Hannah Carrick

John passed away peacefully at Sandyke Cottage, on 8th April 2023, aged 81 years. Loving husband of Margaret. Much loved Dad of Karen, Sarah and James. Special Grandad of Callum, Adam and Amy - Ava and Ellis.  Our sincere condolences are with them at this sad time.

The son of an OWB, John's association with West Buckland School was long and deep.  In September 1953 he duly joined his brother at school in the Fortescue.  At prize giving in 1956 he won the Class IIINL prize and by the time he left school three years later, he was proud to have risen to the rank of Sergeant in the Army Section of the CCF.

A Memorial Service will be held at the North Devon Crematorium on Tuesday 9th May at 11.40 am.  You are warmly invited to the Portmore Golf Club after this Service. Donations, if desired, for Polycystic Kidney Charity and Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital Renal Unit may be given at the service or c/o W S Gayton & Son, Pickett Meadow, Old School Lane, Fremington, Barnstaple, EX31 3UP.
