After a short spell in hospital, he returned home and had a quiet few days with Mary and his son Simon and daughter Liz by his side.
A memorial service for David will be held on Thursday 2nd September at 3pm at St Andrew's Church, Nunton, Near Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP5 4HP.
Tea will be served afterwards at 4pm at the Grasmere Hotel, Harnham, Salisbury SP2 8JN.
David was a true friend of West Buckland School and he will be sadly missed by many.
