Fortescue Medalist 2017: Katie Hevingham

Our second winner has a similar breadth of achievement, indeed she has four colours, for Choir, Drama, Concert band and Hockey.

However, this student is more than a talented participant across a range of school activity.

She is a great leader, she is outspoken, and she is very strong. We interviewed for a senior post in the school this year, and this student led one of the pupil panels. The candidates all commented afterwards that this was the most difficult part of the day, and said that they had found the group leader scary.

Her housemaster describes her as dynamic and committed; nothing is ever too much trouble for her. She is personable with staff, intelligent, talented, and very mature.

She has a tenacious attitude to all she sets her mind to, and hopefully she will go on to read music and maths at Birmingham University this autumn. She is a true leader of the school community.

A Fortescue medal is awarded to Katie Hevingham.
