We were honoured to welcome an extremely talented group of speakers to our Creative Industries Careers Dinner on Friday 28th February who pledged their time to share valuable insights with our students. Each speech gave our guests an entising glimpse into careers in film, theatre, writing, music and art and elicited great questions from the audience including the pertinent topic of whether AI is a threat to the creative industry!

Our speakers were:

Charles Steel – Bafta award-winning film producer of Top Boy and Last King of Scotland, MD of Cowboy Films.

Carolyn Forsyth (88-95B) – Executive Director and CEO Talawa, the UK’s leading Black theatre company.

Jade Angeles Fitton (97-03C) – Writer, journalist and award-winning producer.

Oliver Spencer-Wortley – Award-winning composer and director of Cove Music.

Hester Berry (96-05F) – Celebrated painter living and working in North Devon.

Ed Crumpton (93-05C) – Artist specialising in rope and knot weaving.

It was a fascinating evening filled with stories and practical advice. We're fortunate that Jade has shared her moving speech filled with advice on becoming a writer to help inspire, while Ed very kindly made a recording of his wonderful speech on mastering creativity and overcoming resistance - advice that will inspire well beyond creative topics!

Our heartfelt thanks to all our speakers for making the evening such a success and supporting our current students as they begin to plan their futures.
