Despite the grey weather and a few runs for shelter the OWBA and school tennis teams were able to play some very competitive games of tennis, finishing with victory to the OWBA by one point. The school put out a strong team bringing up players from the younger years to strengthen their already experienced and tactical players. We look forward to welcoming them into the OWBA team over the next few years.

This year we were able to put out four mixed pairs, special mention goes to Paul Woods as earlier in the week we asked him to bring a racquet just in case but on the day, he stepped up to play some great entertaining tennis. Another mention goes to Min Muir who was roped into playing last minute, travelling back from Cardiff between University placements! We are grateful for all players who were able to make the time to travel back to West Buckland in order for this event to run. Playing mixed doubles is always fun as you get the opportunity to see many different tennis styles whilst playing against a wider range of players.

Thank you to all students and OWBA who returned to play, and we look forward to seeing some of you in September for OWBA netball, hockey and rugby. And finally thank you to Monica and Amanda for organising the whole OWBA event and putting on an excellent BBQ and also Chris Gill for sorting out the school tennis team in preparation for the event.
