Ken died this year just short of his 100th birthday. He was the laboratory assistant for the Biology and Chemistry departments from 1974-1989. Many will remember his great interest in Natural History especially birds and geology and his help with the 2nd form field trips, D of E and CCF expeditions. He was a true naturalist; walking his dog across moors, coast paths and mountains in the UK, looking a life and landscape.
Ken's wife died soon after he retired but his interests sustained him and he continued to study into his 90`s, taking an Open University Course in geology and deepening his knowledge of insects and even history. A self -sufficient man, he was always keen to hear of the pupils` progress. He spent his last 5 years in sheltered accommodation in Williton, Somerset.
