London Reunion 2019

9th May saw the latest gathering of Bucklanders at The Carpenters Arms in West London. ‘A gathering of Bucklanders’, I’m sure someone can come up with a better collective noun for a group of us!

There was an excellent turnout with people gathered from across the eras at West Buckland who were able to reconnect with old friends, and even older teachers! It was an evening for nostalgia with all able to
reminisce on their time at West Buckland, whilst also discovering what old friends have been up to in the years that have passed.

It was particularly pleasing to catch up with a number of members of staff, including Bob Clark, Chris
Ponder, Michael Tucker, Jonathan Ralph, Rachel Haywardand  John Whitfield there. Their good humour was in evidence in abundance, bringing back fond memories of lessons and school experiences of the past.

It is great to see these drinks reunions continuing to provide an informal environment to maintain links with West Buckland, and I’m sure many are looking forward to more of these pleasant evenings.

Thanks, as always, to Amanda Reynolds, Monica Carter-Burns and Lucy Lancaster for their hard work in making such reunions a success, and for providing the drinks tokens - much appreciated by all!
