The 162nd iconic Exmoor Run 2025 commenced with students and alumni gathered in the Johnathan Edwards Sports Centre, where WBS Archivist (Mr Berwick Coates) delivered his 12th Exmoor poem, beginning…

I’m leaning on a post, not very far from Devon’s cost,

With the wilderness of Exmoor all around….

…and as the runners started to wonder what lay ahead, they left in the knowledge that today, the Exmoor weather was going to be kind to them with blue skies and a gentle breeze - spirits were high!

With a record number of OWBA guest runners, the air was filled with memories and laughter as they prepared to walk out to Kinsford Gate, the start of the “Long”, renamed the Kinsford Full (10 miles). There was, of course, a statutory stop off at the Poltimore Arms en route to the start.  Meanwhile, in Heasley Mill, the start of the “Short” (6 miles), renamed the Heasley Inter, runners were buzzing as they awaited the whistle!

Congratulations to all runners who took part.  We would like to do a shout out to two runners in particular; Harry Sampson, a recent OWB who completed the Kinsford Full in a staggering 1 hour and 11 minutes!  Also ,to Michael Hick as our eldest alum to partake in the Exmoor!
