I managed to graduate with a first which was pleasing, especially as I convinced my tutors to allow me to take my degree in an unusually sporty direction!

Since stumbling across student radio, I realised I had a previously unknown passion for broadcasting and specifically in sport. This led me to start seeking out opportunities and I spent my free time helping out at BBC Radio Nottingham whilst working on my dissertation about the history of Nottingham Forest.

18 months or so on, I’m now working as a Broadcast Journalist; reading bulletins and reporting on sport for Radio Nottingham, whilst also acting as a freelance commentator and presenter for other companies. I’ve had some incredible experiences from reporting pitch-side at Wembley to travelling the country with other sports such as cricket, tennis and ice hockey.

There are some exciting prospects on the horizon, including hosting my own Rugby Magazine TV Show after being approached by a local company, as well as trialling over the coming months with BBC Radio 5-Live. I’m hoping to move to the BBC's new home in Salford in the next year or so to further my career there.
