On leaving WB, Sean Aspey (79-86B) returned to his home town of Porthcawl in South Wales where he was elected to serve Porthcawl Town Council in 2008 and 2012 as well as representing Porthcawl on Bridgend County Borough Council.
In May 2014, he was elected Mayor of Porthcawl.
