Hester Competes in National Portrait Competition

The Berry brigade headed down to Cardiff last summer to witness Hester (96-05F) compete in the National Portrait Artist of the Year competition at the National Assembly of Wales...
Hosted by Frank Skinner and Joan Bakewell, the contestants had four hours in which to complete a portrait with a time-lapse camera focused on their easel, numerous interviews with the judges and the presenters and a constant stream of guests and members of the public filing past. In Hester’s case the model was actor and comedian, Greg Davies.

Hester’s parents, Helen and Paul were left holding the baby; at six weeks old, Zebedee had his own moment of fame when they were interviewed by Frank Skinner. Hester was selected from a group of four but missed out on being put through to the next stage, where the winner was awarded a £10,000 major commission for the Scottish National Portrait Gallery.
