News > General > UPDATE - OWBA Sport

The OWBA is extremely sad to hear the news of the passing of Queen Elizabeth ll. We were planning a full OWBA Sports Day tomorrow, but in the light of the school’s decision to cancel all school fixtures, the netball, hockey and shooting events have been cancelled.

However, following the announcement from the Rugby Football Union that all rugby games can be played this weekend, the OWBA’s Rugby Squad will be playing against South Molton RFC’s 2nd XV on the WBS 1st XV pitch tomorrow afternoon at 2pm.

We shall follow the RFU’s guidelines and show our respect by starting the match with a minute’s silence and all players will wear black armbands. Some of our former students, staff and parents are travelling from far-flung places and it will be lovely for them to gather at this sad time.
