Scott Lambell (91-96G) is taking on a very special virtual cycling challenge of the USA coast. A total of 4000km.

Some of you may be aware that Pip Johnstone (89-96G) has a really aggressive form of cancer.

Scott told us.

“Our best mate, Pip, was diagnosed in March with an inoperable cancer in his stomach and is undergoing Chemotherapy to treat it and hopefully to buy him many more years to annoy Emma and his mates but the prognosis is not amazing but last week's results showed that it is having a positive impact since he started his triweekly sessions so we all live in hope that he can conquer this beast.

But instead of getting down about it we (Adam, Scott, Pete, Steve, Sam and Jon) as well as Pip are cycling, running & walking the length of the US west coast (from the Mexican to Canadian borders with the US) along the Pacific Crest route (virtually) - its 4,000kms overall and we are aiming to finish in time for his 43rd birthday in July - and we have made amazing progress since we started in April but we are looking for even more reason to keep plugging away.

So, please dig deep, leave messages of encouragement and most importantly send positive vibes to Pip (and us) as he fights this horrendous news in the best way possible”

Scott Lambell is fundraising for The Rowans Hospice (justgiving.com)
