Jonno Engelking (09-15B)

Since I left WBS last year I have been thoroughly enjoying North Carolina USA where I am studying for a degree in Science. I am on a full sports scholarship majoring in Biology and Chemistry.

This is my first semester and I have had opportunity to do lots of sports and to compete in Charlotte, Raleigh, and all over Carolina and beyond with the track and field team.

At my first competition I broke the University Javelin record.  I then won the County Championships with a throw of 61.5m, this has ranked me first in the South-East region, and I have gained a place to represent my University as a freshman at the nationals this summer in Florida.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the culture and opportunities in the USA and would highly recommend anyone who is interested to explore the opportunities at Universities over here.

It has been the best thing I have ever done!

If you would like advice on entry requirements and the examination process you can contact me through the school or when I am in Devon for three months over the summer.

I would like to thank Staff especially Mr Morris for his encouragement and I look forward to seeing everyone soon.
