Celebrate 100 Years of the Phoenix Society – Join Us for a Landmark Debate
We are delighted to invite you to a very special event celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Phoenix Society - one of the school’s most enduring traditions.
To mark this centenary, the Society will revisit the motion debated in its inaugural year: “This House believes that the USA is not a credit to modern civilisation.”
We are expecting a lively, thoughtful, and entertaining debate, honouring a century of rigorous argument, intellectual challenge, and spirited discussion.
Event details:
Friday 23rd January in the Karslake Hall at 7pm.
£5 per ticket, to include cheese and wine (wine for adults only).
Whether you are a former member, a supporter of debating, or simply enjoy an evening of good company and stimulating conversation, we would be delighted to welcome you.
We encourage you to secure your place and be part of this historic occasion.
