The ethos is very much on relationship based care, to help clients enjoy life and encouraging them to be as active as possible. Visits are a minimum of an hour, so there is time for social interaction. Clients are matched to their CAREGivers based on similar interests and personalities, and each client is only visited by a small number of CAREGivers, which helps to maintain continuity of care and build trusting relationships. CAREGivers don’t wear uniforms, so the relationship feels much more personal. Importantly, CAREGivers have fixed visit times, and a monitoring system ensures they always arrive on time, and new CAREGivers are always introduced to a client by someone they already know.
We also provide a variety of technology solutions that either precede or complement the physical presence of a CAREGiver in a client’s home, which can provide additional reassurance for family members who are remote from their older loved ones.

After graduating I returned to North Devon and worked in advertising for 15 years. I realised over time that I wanted to do something to make more of a difference, and set up Home Instead North Devon & Exmoor in 2017 to provide a high quality service to help our older generation live better quality lives.
Since then we have been rated Outstanding by the CQC, putting us in the top 4% of all homecare providers in England, a Top 20 service in the South West, based on client review scores, and a 5* Employer, based on our independently conducted staff satisfaction survey.
