Coastal Challenge Walk

Stuart Smith (1973-1980 G) writes with news of the recent Coastal Challenge walk, organised by the WBS Foundation. “I have once again walked my 2 boys on the 13 mile Coastal Challenge on Sunday 19th June. The route followed  a spectacular part of the North Devon Coast Path starting from Combe Martin and finishing at the Valley of Rocks car park at Lynton, a distance of about 13 miles. Many of you kindly sponsored me last year and so I have no right to contact you again I know. Nevertheless I am bold enough to do so as I have thick enough skin to take rejection. So once again I wonder if you would be prepared to sponsor me? I will not be the least offended if you decide not to given the shortage of funds that most of us face at the moment and you may already be supporting other causes. However even small amounts would be appreciated. There is also the ability to claim back the Tax Relief on the donation (I will need your full address and post code to do this). This year the proceeds of the walk are to be split between the charity Shelterbox and the West Buckland Foundation Bursary Fund. Please forgive this rather impersonal approach and I thank again all of you who gave so generously last year as I raised over £600!” If you would like to sponsor Stuart, you can download a sponsorship form from the Foundation site by clicking here
